The Wise Man by Justine Lamb 2008 ©
Passion burns like fire.
The caterpillar lingers awaiting the butterfly
The wise man looks up, frowns and the corners of his mouth smile
The child knows without question
The wings of the bird take flight because they were born to soar
The song that lingers in the soul is hummed with no tune
The sunflower faces the sun
The soil soaks in the rain
Dawn awakes and the stars blink to sleep
Dreams are really real
The eyes have never lied yet
The mouth talks and the ears listen
The wise man understands
